The Department of Defense has identified 3,615 American service members who have died since the start of the Iraq war. It confirmed the deaths of the following Americans yesterday:

CHANEY, Jeffrey L., 35, Petty Officer First Class, Navy; Omaha; Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 11.

HOLKE, Eric M., 31, Specialist, Army; Crestline, Calif.; California Army National Guard.

MASSEY, John R., 29, Sgt., Army; Judsonia, Ark.; Arkansas Army National Guard.

STARKOVICH, Shawn V., 20, Lance Cpl., Marines; Arlington, Wash.; First Marine Expeditionary Force.

WADE, Patrick L., 38, Chief Petty Officer, Navy; Key West, Fla.; Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 11.
